Max Jacob Specktor (DOB: 03/03/89). Besides having a name worthy of a comic book super-villain, Specktor is most noted for his role as a member of the RNC8. The group referred to itself as the RNC Welcoming Committee and conspired to disrupt the 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul. In a raid on the group's hideouts, authorities seized piping, paint, bleach, marbles and slingshots, bricks and cement blocks, gas masks, bolt cutters, firecrackers, empty glass bottles, flammable liquids, rags and containers of urine and feces. He was a "cultural studies" student at the University of Minnesota at the time of his arrest. His father described him as "Jewishly educated". After his release from jail, Specktor did a West Coast speaking tour on college campuses and commie bookshops. He faced years in prison but ultimately plead guilty to a conspiracy to commit riot charge and served a short sentence. When asked about the violence of the RNC protests he said, "They [police] kicked in our doors first and damaged property at our houses first. No cops were injured, but hundreds of protesters were Maced and beaten.” Specktor had numerous priors including criminal trespass, resisting arrest and unlawful assembly which may be related to protests/riots. He appears to have lived at the same modest but well-kept home in south Minneapolis his entire life, presumably with his parents. The house is conveniently located for access to all popular rioting locations in the city. He may currently work in a print shop. Specktor's father is the editor of American Jewish World. Rumor has it that Molotov cocktails were served at Max's Bar Mitzvah.
