Notes

Garrett Scott Fitzgerald (DOB: 02/28/83) was one of the RNC 8, a left-wing group that conspired to disrupt the 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota. His group referred to themselves as the RNC Welcoming Committee. When police raided the group's hideouts they found PVC piping, paint, bleach, marbles and slingshots, bricks and cement blocks, gas masks, bolt cutters, firecrackers, empty glass bottles, flammable liquids, rags, and containers of urine and feces. He and the others were charged under Minnesota's anti-terrorism law but he ultimately plead guilty to one lesser misdemeanor charge and served a relatively short sentence. Fitzgerald earned a theater degree from the University of Minnesota and taught preschool at the time of his arrest. Fitzgerald entertained the court at one of his hearings with a reading of the Dr. Seuss children’s book “The Lorax.” It appears that Fitzgerald is currently employed by the Legal Rights Center in Minneapolis, where he "has long provided volunteer legal support for political activists and others facing charges arising from institutional, law enforcement, or prosecution bias." https://archive.vn/rSYR6 https://archive.vn/4KpS1 https://archive.vn/yDX8F https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8JPK7o5pX4&ab_channel=DavidRovics
