Nekima Levy Armstrong (DOB: 06/27/76) is a civil rights activist and lawyer who was one of the organizers of the Minneapolis riots after George's death in 2020. She was also involved in the 2025 and 2026 ICE protests in the Twin Cities area. Her Instagram account shows she attended an illegal protest outside the home of the head of U.S. Marshalls in 2021. Armstrong wrote an article for a left-wing magazine complaining how Target eliminated its DEI program. She wrote a book called "J is for Justice". She unsuccessfully ran for mayor of Minneapolis in 2017. Armstrong was a lay preacher at a community church in the 2010s. She was a tenured law professor at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis but quit to devote herself full time to social justice issues.
