Notes

Yan is a Chinese national and illegal alien who set fire to the historic First Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama in September 2021. She was a student at nearby Auburn University who overstayed her student Visa. Police estimated the fire caused an estimated $25K in damage to the church. Yan was Federally charged with 2nd degree arson. First Baptist was noted for the conversational English classes it offered to foreign students in the area. Yan attended at least one service at the church and made derogatory comments about the leaders being "rich white men". She was escorted off the premises by security after she became unruly. It's possible Ms. Yan is just some random, unhinged lunatic but, given her statements about white men, it's probable the arson was committed for left-wing political reasons. If it was a white man setting fire to a black church the arson would have made the national news but since it was a communist Chinese citizen setting fire to a white church the press ignored it. Auburn students celebrated her arrest the same way they celebrate all of their few victories by throwing toilet paper into trees (not really :) https://web.archive.org/web/20211012000124/https://thepostmillennial.com/alleged-illegal-chinese-immigrant-charged-with-federal-arson-over-fire-at-historic-us-church?utm_campaign=64470 https://archive.is/a76oN https://archive.vn/HTOCh
