Shanai Hanna Matteson (DOB: 02/22/82) was arrested at an Enbridge Line 3 pipeline protest. She had the brilliant idea of live-streaming her participation which allowed police to identify numerous other trespassing protesters. Matteson was acquitted of her charges in 2022. She claimed in a video that local newspapers are censored and didn't report the true story about protests. She's an artist who has a B.A. from the University of Minnesota in cultural studies/critical theory and analysis. Matteson lives out in the woods near Pallisade in Northern Minnesota.
