https://nypost.com/2015/04/28/protesters-charged-in-attack-on-cops-during-demonstration/ A crew of rowdy protesters, including three academics, were charged with assault and resisting arrest Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court in the attack on cops during an anti-police demonstration last year on the Brooklyn Bridge. Robert Murray, 43, a union rep, and Jarrod Shanahan, 29, a grad student, also pleaded not guilty. Murray was active in the Occupy protests in the early '10s. He was charged after the December 2014 incident on the Brooklyn Bridge with assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, inciting riots, escape and obstruction of governmental administration. At the time of his arrest he worked as an organizer for SEIU Local 42BJ and reportedly made $105,000 per year (how much do union janitors make?). His union threw him under the bus saying, "The union does not under any circumstance condone violence of any kind including against police officers.” He was placed on unpaid administrative leave after his arrest. He appears to have been reinstated by the union in 2019 (https://archive.vn/nWCYa). https://archive.vn/9Np9f https://archive.vn/KvvhD https://archive.vn/YcAeh
