Notes

Alvarado is the co-executive director of the National Day Laborer Organizing Network who encouraged people to show up at violent protests in L.A. He was quoted by CNN, "The Pasadena community showed up in large numbers and the message was loud and clear, we don’t want to see your armored vehicles, men in masks coming to our communities to pick people up to rip families apart.” He's originally from El Salvador and entered the U.S., presumably illegally, but I guess he took advantage of one of the many amnesties. https://web.archive.org/web/20240814164044/http://petrafoundation.org/fellows/pablo-alvarado/index.html https://web.archive.org/web/20240814164044/http://petrafoundation.org/fellows/pablo-alvarado/index.html
