Daniel Gerard McGowan is a prominent eco-terrorist who committed several arsons in Oregon in the early 2000s. McGowan was arrested by the FBI in 2006 and charged with conspiracy to commit arson, attempted arson and arson. He was sentenced to seven years in Federal prison and ordered to pay $1.9 mil. in restitution. His sentence contained a terrorism enhancement. Because of his link to terrorism, he spent time in a communications management prison that limited his contact with the outside world. McGowan works as a paralegal for the ACLU.
