Notes

DeVante Rushwan Hill (DOB: 07/01/92) is an activist and preacher who was one of the leaders of a May 2020 protest march in Memphis that turned into a riot. He was accused by fellow rioters of grandstanding for publicity. Hill was picked up in 2021 by police for violating a prosecution diversion agreement as well as testing positive for drugs. Hill was arrested in 2016 for filing a false police report involving a stolen laptop. He has a charge for criminal impersonation, but it appears to be traffic related rather than an identity theft. He probably gave a false name to a traffic cop. He also has a huge number of traffic violations. After the killing of Tyree Nichols in 2023, he marched in the street with a bullhorn. There was some looting in Memphis after Nichol's death but it's unclear if Hill was involved in those protests. Hill is the pastor at One Church Memphis although it's unclear if he's an ordained minister. He's now pushing, in his own words, "economical" reform in Memphis. Hill's last confirmed address was in Covington, north of Memphis but that may be his parent's house. He's lived in a Memphis apartment. https://archive.ph/zH1vj
