Notes

It's a transgendered (presumably male>female) that was arrested after a month-long sit-in at a Johns Hopkins University administration building in May 2019. Although Opal Phoenix is the name given in newspaper accounts of the incident, the name is most likely a pseudonym. The JHU protesters were protesting the creation of a private John Hopkins security force as well as ICE contracts as well as the shooting of some guy named Tyrone. The building the protesters occupied provides services to disabled students as well as payroll disbursement to students. During the sit-in, some workers were unable to pick up their paychecks and disabled students were unable to receive the services they need but who cares because they're all White privileged anyway. Tragically, Opal was misgendered by police during the booking process, a slight he's unlikely to recover from. https://archive.vn/sutyf https://archive.vn/DVDEV
