Notes

Dr. Rakhee Shirish Devasthali, aka Rakhee Vasthali, (DOB:12/17/87) was arrested at a 2010 protest at the Wake County board of education. The group was protesting the end of a busing program that transported little kids long distances. She was affiliated with FIST, a left-wing student group formerly active in the Durham area. Devasthali was a student at UNC-Chapel Hill at the time of her arrest. She was later arrested at a "moral Monday" protest at the state capitol. Unlike most radicals, Devasthali appears to have done something with her life. She went to med school and now practices family medicine in Durham. She's part of the Radical Healing network which is "radically inclusive, LGBTQ+, black, indigenous, people of color centered, multicultural and multiracial. According to her bio she helped create a reproductive justice curriculum in collaboration with Planned Parenthood. She claims to be especially interested in "comprehensive primary care, sexual and reproductive health including gender-affirming care and wellness for all size bodies". https://archive.ph/9e7Bg#selection-4835.76-4835.99 https://archive.ph/9ljg1, https://archive.ph/zZxdY, https://archive.ph/5fB5G, https://archive.ph/TB5Hk
