Guzman describes himself as a police abolitionist, entrepreneur and author. He was one of the leaders of BLM protests and riots after George's death. He was arrested at a George Floyd riot in New York and was later one of the plaintiffs in a lawsuit against the city. He's been in prison several times. The first time, he was arrested for robbery as a teen, tried as an adult and spent 3 1/2 years at Rikers Island prison. He was convicted a second time and served several years in a state prison, 2 1/2 in solitary. Several of his relatives are ex-cons as well. He worked as an organizer for JustLeadershipUSA and recently founded America on Trial. He's heavily involved in the anti-police movement in NYC. Guzman wrote a book called "Forty Dollars and a Dream".
