Notes

Julia A. Daniel is the Assistant Director for Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ). SURJ was one of the organizers to the violent counter-protest of the UTR rally in Charlottesville. She was arrested at a May 2023 insurrection at the Florida state capitol. The riot was in response to a Florida bill which would withhold funds from any group that provides IDs to illegal aliens. Daniel was quoted as saying, "He (Gov. DeStanis) stokes division to try and make white people afraid, and I'm here to say that we will not be divided or tricked because we know that we are stronger when we stand together." Daniel was one of the founders of the Boulder, Colorado SURJ chapter. She identifies as "upper working / lower middle class". Daniel gives her residence as Brooklyn on her LinkedIn account, but she has ties to Boulder and Miami. She's currently working on her PhD. https://archive.ph/UZGqA https://archive.ph/5WsgW https://www.linkedin.com/in/julia-daniel-6a9603215
