He attended the Charlottesville Unite the Right counter protest. Benabe describes himself as, "an Ethno-mathematician, public intellectual, author, school leader, social justice activist and creator of Do-The-Right-Thing-Pedagogy." He showed up in El Paso for a Teachers Against (illegal alien) Child Detention event. Benabe has been spotted at many BLM events including NYC BLM's delgation to the gay pride parade and an event in support of Kashmir which for some reason BLM thinks is important. Perhaps BLM is trying to curry favor with the Indians in NYC. He's a math teacher at South Bronx Community Charter High School who leads his school's BLM youth chapter. The school is partially funded by George Soros' Open Society Foundation. SBCC teaches most classes in group-therapy style circles to promote the idea of collectivism. Benabe is friends with radical NYC BLM organizer and self-proclaimed leader Hank Newsome (https://antifawatch.net/ViewReport/e66a57cc) and invited Hank to speak to his students. Benabe may have led students from his school on a field trip to protest at Charlottesville. Benabe has a B.A. from CUNY and a Masters from Fordham.
