Trenter was also a member of ACT UP, a radical gay group active during the AIDS era. Before the Left invented milk shake bombs, they threw pies and Trenter, and a fellow radical pied a conservative speaker at a 1999 event. In 2000, he was arrested for breaking windows at a Nieman Marcus department store in San Francisco in an anti-fur protest. He attended San Francisco State University and works as a nurse at Charles Drew Preparatory Academy.
