Behrendt is allegedly connected on social media to the Tristan Romine-Mann (Tristan Isaac) wing of Portland's Antifa club. She's an environmentalist who's active with Rising Tide. She's also affiliated with Portland Tenants United and is a DSA member. Behrendt has given several radio interviews on various radical causes on far-left Portland radio station KBOO. Additionally, she's participated in kayak protests against oil tankers.
