Chianella participated in the 2010 G-20 Summit riots in Toronto when he was 18. He was extradited to Canada and charged with 53 crimes including: Mischief over $5,000 x 21, Attempted mischief x3, Intimidation of Justice System participant x2, Obstructing a peace officer, Assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, Assault with a weapon, Assault, Mischief endangering life x12, Attempted mischief endangering life, Arson, Break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offense, Theft x3 and Disguise with intent to commit an indictable offense. The majority of his charges were later dropped. Chianella's 90 year old grandmother was the only family member who donated to his defense. Despite his numerous offenses he was sentenced to only two years in prison, proving once again that Canadians are way nicer than Americans. He received a two year prison sentence for his crimes.
