He's a left-wing Seattle city council candidate who assaulted a conservative journalist at a Turning Point USA event in May 2024 in Seattle. He was wearing black bloc clothing and an Islamic keffiyeh scarf. Yusef was owned by the journalist's security guard and later bitched about Islamophobia. A group of Antifa in black bloc jumped to Yusef's "defense" and attacked the journalist. The attack occurred near the Gaza occupation zone on the UW campus. Yusef claimed he was trying to prevent the journalist from filming Muslims even though it's perfectly legal to film someone in a public space.
