Notes

Elena Everett was arrested for pulling down a Confederate monument in 2017 in Durham. Charges were later dropped by the D.A. She began her career as a political radical while a student at NC State University where she was active in the anti-war movement and labor issues. Everett was active with Occupy Durham in the early 2010s. Everett is affiliated with over a dozen left-wing organizations in North Carolina including: NC Green Party, Durham Solidarity Center, FairVoteNC and the Southern Vision Allicance. Everett was the founder and organizer of several groups. She's a member of the communist Workers World Party. She's married to fellow radical Peter Gilbert who was arrested with her at the 2017 statue protest. She may be separated from Gilbert since she doesn’t show up as a resident at his parent’s house where he lives. https://archive.ph/aSTcO, https://archive.ph/q1iUQ, https://archive.ph/cywyL, https://archive.ph/GAfRQ
