Nick "Nico" Dillon Stubler (born Apr. '94) is an organizer for the radical animal rights group Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) who was arrested at an animal theft on a Sonoma County (CA) farm in the late 2010s. His charges may have been dropped. Stubler participated in a 2020 shutdown of a Farmer John packing plant in Vernon, California. He participated in at least one June 2020 George Floyd riot in Denver where he chanted "We want justice, f**k your curfew." (See his Instagram). He doesn't show up in arrest records from that riot. In 2021, he participated in an "action" at a San Francisco horse racing track at which four DxE members were arrested. He was arrested at a 2022 "climate justice" protest along with his parents, Gary and Patti Stubler in Sacramento. Stubler's most notable physical feature is the huge number of tattoos on his body. He has sleeve tats on both arms as well as a large tattoo in Hindi script on his back. He has an M.A. in animal studies from New York University. We're not certain where he lives. He claims to have moved to Berkeley, but his last known address was his parents' home in Grand Junction, Colorado and he claims to have been active in BLM protests in that state. Kayla Jo Leaming (born Aug. '90) is a radical animal rights activist and an organizer for the Pinnelas, Florida chapter of Direct Action Everywhere (DxE). She's married to fellow DxE member Michael Leaming. She dragged her kids to a bear hunting meeting at the Florida Wildlife Commission and made them give speeches against hunting. Leaming was presumably on hand in 2017 when her husband stole a fish from a fisherman and threw it back into a St. Petersburg Lake. Michael "Mike" Thomas Francis Leaming (born Apr. '86) is a member a Florida chapter of the radical animal rights group Direct Action Everywhere (DxE). He was with a group of DxE members in 2017 when he famously confronted a family on a St. Petersburg fishing pier who had just caught a tilapia. He yelled at the father and said, "Did you know fish feel pain? What if it was a dog or human child?" He then grabbed the fish and threw it back into the water and shouted, "Call the police! I just saved a fish's life! How about that?". He was charged with interference with the taking of a fish. Leaming was also allegedly at a disruption of Cow Appreciation Day at a local Chik fil A restaurant at which some DxE members carried carving knives. He has numerous priors including charges for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis, parole violation, petit theft and tampering with evidence. His wife, Kayla, is also a DxE member and the couple have taken their young children to at least one DxE "action".
