Steve J. Conn is a member of the radical group BAMN. He ran for a board position with the DFT teachers' union in 2023. This is interesting because he was removed from the board in 2015 for misconduct. Among other offenses, Conn attempted to illegally affiliate the DFT with BAMN, failed to address a physical assault on a member and illegally cancelled meetings. Conn got mad after his firing and attempted to start a new teacher's union. He claims to have been a Detroit teacher, union leader and civil rights activist for 30 years. He seems to support the usual BAMN causes of illegal alien rights and school lockdowns.
