Notes

Peter Hull Gilbert (DOB: 04/03/78) is a left-wing lawyer who was arrested in 2017 for destroying a Confederate statue in front of the Durham County courthouse. He was charged with disorderly conduct, damage to real property, participation in a riot with property damage in excess of $1,500 (felony) and inciting others to riot (felony). The D.A. later dropped charges. He has prior arrests for possession of marijuana and DUI. Gilbert was active in the Occupy movement in the early 2010s and was an attorney for Occupy Raleigh. Interestingly, a convicted pedophile and child pornographer in Raleigh was using the same name in the mid 2010s but it’s a different Peter Gilbert. He's married to fellow radical Elena Everett who was also arrested at the statue vandalism. Gilbert is affiliated with about a half-dozen left-wing organizations including: Legal Aid of North Carolina, Southern Vision Alliance, UNC Center for Civil Rights and Action for Community. He works as a staff attorney for Legal Aid of North Carolina. Gilbert has a BA in physics from Yale and a JD from UNC. He’s forty-four years old and married but lives with his elderly parents in their McMansion in Raleigh. https://archive.ph/MY9tU#selection-5087.217-5087.235 https://archive.ph/snU8e Attorney page: https://www.avvo.com/attorneys/27701-nc-peter-gilbert-4291822.html
