Grant T. Barnes (born June '82) was a member of the radical environmental group Earth Liberation Front (ELF) who torched seven SUVs in the Denver suburb of Cherry Creek in 2007. Police found seven additional firebombs in his car when they executed a search warrant. He was charged with a total of 15 counts including using explosives in commission of a felony, arson and possession of an explosive device. He had priors for identity theft, possession of graffiti materials and interference. Barnes was sentenced to 12 years in the pen for his arson crimes. Barnes has a biology degree but, presumably because of his felonies, has to work at a local hippy grocery store. Cassidy Patrick Wheeler (born Jan '80) is a Portland area anarchist who was incarcerated for eight years in the 2000s. He was a poster boy for Anarchist Black Cross groups during his stay in the pen. The anarchists claim he was arrested for shoplifting a pair of socks, but his criminal record shows he was arrested in 2001 for robbery, assault and assault on a public safety officer. While in prison, he was investigated by the FBI who had found his name in captured Al Qaeda documents. He also had numerous disciplinary infractions in prison. Although, we can't find the offense, he appears to be a sex offender since he was charged with failure to register in 2015. The sex offense may have been committed when he was a juvi. Rose City Antifa is known for its criminality, but Wheeler is a very bad seed, even by Antifa standards. His long criminal career stretches back at least to the late 1990s and probably earlier as a juvenile. He comes from a middle-class background and his parents set him up with a Portland apartment after his release from prison. He had dreams of attending community college after prison but sadly, they seem to have crashed to the ground as he's had numerous subsequent felony arrests since his release. He has additional arrests for kidnapping, attempted kidnapping, coercion, unlawful possession of marijuana, failure to register as a sex offender, contempt of court, parole violation, attempt to commit a class B felony, receiving stolen property, under the influence of a controlled substance and arson.
