In 2017 Voli and another man locked themselves to a crane in an attempt to stop construction of a liquified natural gas plant in Tacoma. Voli was previously arrested in 2016 at Dakota Access Pipeline protests where he chained himself to a pipeline in a manner that endangered the police officers who cut him loose. He's been arrested at least five times at protests and detained four other times. Voli was affiliated with the environmental group Seattle 350 at the time of most of his protests. He's been arrested for criminal trespassing, malicious mischief, disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and physical obstruction of government function. He filed for bankruptcy in 2010. Voli is a native of Italy. He still travels internationally, leaving a large carbon footprint and he attended a climate conference in Paris in 2015. Alexander Samuel Parker Lowe participated in the Yellow Finch tree-sitting action which took place over nearly three years beginning in 2018 in Montgomery County, Virginia. The protesters were protesting the Mountain Valley pipeline. Lowe was fined $500 by a judge for every day he remained in the tree. He spent 254 days in a tree and was sentenced to one day in the slammer for every day he spent in the tree. Alexander Reid Ross is a geography professor at Portland State University who researches right wing groups and is affiliated with Rose City Antifa. Ross published a book titled "Against the Fascist Creep" in 2017. The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) was forced to retract an article Ross wrote in 2018 due to defamation claims.
