Michael "Mick" H. Kelly (Born Aug. '57) is a communist and one of the leaders of the Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO), an organization that's allegedly funded by the Chinese Communist Party and is part of the CCP's plot to infiltrate American radical groups. He's the Political Secretary and claimed many of the organization's leaders had traveled to China and that the organization looks forward to building a closer relationship with the CCP. He also edited the organization's FightBack! Newsletter for a while. Kelly was one of the Minnesota radicals whose homes were raided by the FBI in 2010 and he was investigated by a grand jury for terrorism ties. He was arrested at the 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul when he was passing out flyers and charged with soliciting and peddling. Matthew "Matt" A. McAlman (Born May '85) is the drummer for the Marshall Law Band, a group that played live for rioters at early June 2020 Seattle riots. The band later became the primary band at CHAZ. The band's main stage was the intersection of 12th and Pine Streets and they released an album with that title. They also had a flat bed trailer that someone drove aroud CHAZ as they performed. Interestingly, even though the band bills itself as BLM, there are only two black men in the sextet, including McAlman. He used to work as a marijuana delivery man for a legal marijuana grower and was featured in a story about a Seattle butcher who feed pot to his pigs to make edibles. McAlman may have been dealing or using on the side because he has two charges for possession of MJ as well as a drug paraphernalia charge. Marshall Hugh, aka Chaz Marshall, is the lead vocalist / rapper for the Marshall Law Band, a group that functioned as the CHAZ/CHOP occupation zone's house band. The band actually played live in the street during early June 2020 riots when Antifa was attempting to burn down a police precinct in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Hugh is probably half-white himself and his band is majority white, even though it's supposedly a BLM hip-hop funk band. Hugh and his band appear to have briefly become one of the favorites of the liberal oligarch set. The band was supposedly under consideration for a Pulitzer Prize for the album they wrote about CHAZ and the band was invited to perform at a TED talk. Chip Berlet is often cited as an inspiration by many modern Antifa activists for the work they do.
