He later had the gall to call police and report that the teen was with an extremist Republican group who had stalked him and were out to get him. The teen was a minority, possibly bi-racial, Hispanic or Native American. Brandt was charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident. Police were still investigating the crime and could press more serious charges. He was stopped by police a short while later where they chose to not arrest him but instead let him go and simply referred him for prosecution. In July 2022, the state chose not to prosecute him. Bradely Steven Moderow has already had several serious run-ins with law enforcement including arrests for warrents related to stolen firearms and drugs.
